It started with one more match.
Street Fighter Forever began in the back corner of a Toronto arcade in 1998. The cabinet had a sticky jab button, the floor shook whenever the dance machine started, and Friday nights ended only when the staff turned on the house lights. A small group of us kept showing up—first as strangers, then as rivals, eventually as friends.
We chose different mains and argued about different games, but the ritual was the same: put down a coin, call next, learn something, run it back.
The arcade closed. The fight followed us home.
Over the years, the cabinet disappeared, people moved, and the group chat replaced the line beside the machine. We kept the connection alive through home tournaments, imported art books, figures carried back in suitcases, and a growing list of merchandise we wished existed. Too much of what we found felt disposable, generic, or made for a logo rather than the people who loved the games.
A list became a store.
In 2020, we turned that shared list into Street Fighter Forever. The first orders were packed at a dining-room table in Toronto, between stacks of mailers and more tape than anyone should own. The idea was simple: build the fan shop we had spent years looking for.
That meant apparel you would wear even when you were not heading to a tournament. Collectibles worth making room for. Art that understood why a stage, a pose, or a colour palette matters. Pieces from every era—not just the newest release and not just the obvious characters.
For the people who still call next.
We are still independent and fan-run. We are not here to decide who counts as a “real” fan. Some customers can name every version of the Shoryuken; others just remember the character they picked as a kid. Both belong here.
Street Fighter has always been about returning to the match with a little more knowledge than you had before. This store is our way of keeping that feeling alive—and making sure there is always room for one more player.
